Federal nursing home data
Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes are inspected by state agencies on behalf of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS publishes the results monthly. We import them automatically.

Assisted living is licensed by each state, and every state publishes its records differently. Some offer downloadable files; others have only a search page. This is our working registry of official sources. States are added to the site only after we've built and tested an import for them.

What “Not Available” and “Not Yet Verified” mean
When we don't have reliable information, we say so. “Not Verified” never means “no.” A facility with an unknown camera policy may allow cameras; a facility with unknown availability may have open rooms. Always ask directly.

If you believe a government record is wrong, contact the agency that published it. We reflect official records as published, so we cannot change inspection findings ourselves.
